Reversible silk hangings

These reversible textile pieces bring together the woven and printed imagery. Each design is first created as an original artwork using pencil and ink on watercolour paper. Like the originals the printed component of the hanging is 35cm x 180cm. The fabric for the lucious woven silk borders is chosen from the fabrics I have designed and had woven for my range of AYA KAWA ties. The backing is made from white jaquard kimono silk.
