Obi Ties
Obi is a sash for traditional Japanese dress and tie is used both as a verb as in 'to tie up' and to denote the origin of the fabric used in the Obi which is from the woven silk tie fabric that I design. Some women do wear my ties but I have come up with the "Obi Tie' as a more opulent option for special occasions. Each obi is a double sided woven silk creation that can be worn tied around the hips, draped in folds around the neck or worn long with a coat and folded back to show the contrasting other side. No two Obi ties are the same and they are all handmade by me in my studio.
